Every month, we touch here on a climate change aspect relevant to Quambio's focus. We look at how our solutions may be able to challenge the debate or help. The motivation is usually a recent article or current event. Stay tuned if you are interested in digging just a bit deeper. And let us know what you think!
Quambio offset sales
We will be selling CO2 saved via the platform as offsets. The proceeds will be shared with you users to reflect your efforts. Here, we describe the eligibility rules and expected rewards.
Quambio is an impact App, not just a health App. Transports such as train rides count. Here, we list out the activities that can be logged, including some you may not have thought off.
The App dashboard
The dashboard is where you can see your impact grow, week after week, as well as on a monthly and on an annual basis. Here, we discuss briefly how to access it and what it shows.
The App colors
You may have wondered why your App was black (or white) when you first joined, and started to light up as you with your first action. Well, here is an insider tip: it is not a bug!
Each year around that time, the world bank issues a report on carbon pricing initiatives. In anticipation to the upcoming report, we discuss here some of the observations from the 2020 issue.
Why 1.5oC matters?
This is an oldie but a goodie, a 2019 (another world!) synthesis of why it matters that we keep global temperatures south of 1.5-2.0 oC increase over pre-industrial levels.
The original paper
As an atmospheric scientist by training, I love to go back to this modest yet incredibly powerful 1979 publication. I can only wish we had acted then, at a time of 380ppm CO2 concentrations.
